The Gas Safe Register is the official list for over 125,000 engineers who are qualified to work safely and legally on gas appliances. Being an official member of the Gas Safe Register is a legal requirement for all engineers.
The Gas Safe Register ensures and maintains that all engineers keep updated with their skills. Some key points that The Gas Safe Register does are :
- a dedicated national investigations team tracking down individuals working illegally
- regular inspections of Gas Safe registered engineers
- educating consumers and raising awareness of gas safety
- investigating reports of unsafe gas work
For all of you who thought the official list was CORGI as the main gas registeration body – The Gas Safe Register replaced CORGI in 2009 in Great Britain and Isle of Man on 1 April 2009 and Northern Ireland and Guernsey on 1 April 2010.
